Cyclosporiasis is on the rise in the US but the information on how to handle the parasite is very contradictory. Literally heard on the radio this morning that in order to kill Cyclospora cayetanensis, you have to boil your produce but the news is saying something else.

    This article is almost 2 weeks old. Do you have any idea how long that is when it comes to a contagious outbreak? Practically irresponsible to post outdated info on things like this.

      all information currently about this outbreak has that timeline from 7 days - 2weeks and they are all are saying the same information. CDCs data was updated 4 days ago, with data tracking as from July 9, which is almost a week ago. There is a 6 week reporting lag when recording this data, due to symptoms of this Cyclospora appreaching 2 days to more than 2 weeks when somwone gets sick. So no, 2 weeks is not outdated data, it is still relevant until something changes.
