We have organizations.

They stage protests and advocate for better leaders.

No one is moved by them in a meaningful way. Those who agree still agree and those who don’t, don’t ever hear about them, and if they do; they don’t listen or care.

We just have tens of millions of insane idiots. How do you help tens of millions of people with shared language and culture, and access to social media and smartphones — NOT to be insane idiots?

What’s an organization going to say or do to influence someone who is so brainwashed and committed to their tribe?

They say peer pressure is responsible for a lot of this.

I personally think if I was surrounded by hatred and ignorance, I would just… choose a different tribe.

They’re annoyed that people experience empathy and curiosity.

They don’t.

They just want to be ignorant bigots without challenge or second thought.

They’re tired of living with people who are genuinely BETTER HUMAN BEINGS than them.

It makes them feel weak and stupid and pathetic.

Don’t hide. Be loud. Remind them. Don’t let them get a moment of respite from the crushing weight of ideas that come from people who actually give a shit.

Do they really think making the environment intolerable for educated people who experience empathy, will lead to those people “converting” to their views?

Thats because it’s really fucking easy to criticize an entire country when you’re not in it.

The American people were born here by chance, live paycheck to paycheck, and are separated from the people that make these decisions by thousands of miles and thousands of armed men with guns.

I do have hope for a solution. I just don’t see how any good will come from treating the solution like a zero sum game where comprimiste is tantamount to defeat. Nothing good has ever come from that mentality.

Letting the pedophile dictator with a lifetime of ties to corrupt powerful men the world over, become leader of the most wealthy nation state the world has ever seen, with less guardrails and more radicalized sycophants and loyalists, with the hopes it will spark a revolution, that succeeds, and ends with a coalition of left leaning leadership, reforming our country à la Nordic democratic socialism…
