That’s what we should be worried about? Not the billionaire pedophile authoritarian rapist threatening to nuke Iran because an election isn’t going his way?
Edit: ok, so, here’s my deal. Yes you can be worried about multiple things. But fear is meant for things that are life threatening. None of your anxiety is wrong, just in my mind this is much more of a frustrating thing rather than worrisome.

It doesn’t say you shouldn’t be worried about anything else.

That, too.
Nice whataboutism.
Must be nice only being able to worry about one thing at a time
16gb model went from $305 to $385. Smaller increases for other models. Thanks Altman.
Raspberry pis are a tragic waste of Sam’s RAM.
I was priced out of the hobby when I finally had the space and time to start getting into it. This just confirms it will stay out of my reach.
If you mean Raspberry Pi specifically, it’s extremely overpriced and there are way better alternatives for a much better price. Orange Pi is the first that comes to mind due to naming, but there are also many more.
If you mean hardware overall, look into the used market. Older systems are perfectly fine for hobbyist/home server applications, you can find/build a cheap computer that will serve you well. From someone who is utterly broke - this is very much still possible.
What truly sucks is gaming, LLMs and other hardware-demanding applications. There you do need fancy hardware, and it will cost you a kidney or two. This is where things get very grim.
Where has this author been since the AI boom? We’ve been worried since crypto has been gobbling up and pricing out GPUs
They were already too goddamn expensive anyway.
I’m not worried, and you can’t make me.
Stop telling me to be worried for fucks sake
Shush! I will worry about what ever I want when ever I want, you don’t need to tell me.
Why should I give a flying fuck? I have 3 lenovo tiny boxes, a Rpi4 4gb I got pre 2020, a stack of old laptops and phones, a compute stick and 4 tablets. And if I want to tinker (and I do), ESP32 + CYD is hard to beat.
The Pi 5 does nothing for me that I can’t do faster or cheaper (or both) elsewhere. I could literally spend $20 on a WYSE thinclient to get something that’s 3-4x the pi while being comparable in power draw.
No…if I want a shiny, I’ll get a FPGA or a Commodore 77. If I want to thinker, I’ll get ESP32s. And if I want low power always on compute…well, I’m good thanks.
