GOP Senate nominee Mike Rogers seized on the fractured Democratic dynamic, suggesting Rep. Stevens should campaign with him.
Feuding Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and Rep. Haley Stevens were scheduled to make their first joint campaign appearance since August this weekend.
Instead, their rift grew uglier, with El-Sayed’s campaign telling Stevens to stay away in the waning days of the state’s pivotal race, a Democratic source familiar with the matter confirmed to MS NOW Saturday.
The source requested anonymity to discuss information the individual was not authorized to disclose. Politico was first to report on the flaring public tensions between El-Sayed and Stevens.
Israel-Comes-To-Me-In-My-Dreams Stevens
She’s just putting country ahead of party…
PS: That country isn’t the US.
Everyone should ask to stay away from that harpy
“Abdul promises to get money out of politics,” Stevens said. “He can begin by getting Israel out of his explanation for everything Michigan cannot afford.”
That doesn’t even make sense…
She saying he can begin by getting her money source out of his politics (mouth)… I think?
Regardless, it shows why she didn’t deserve the nomination, and she can take her Republican white knight boyfriend and fuck off to the outer suburbs.
I feel like we will see candid shots of those two in a couple of years, walking around in twinsy israel shirts. The codependency going on there is obvious.
She’s an AIPAC shill, and he’s spoken against Israel’s buying of politicians before.
AIPAC is not known for reasonable arguments
Kind of wild how it’s always radio silence from the “Vote Blue No Matter Who” brigade in comment sections like this, where you have a centrist Dem using their platform to bash a progressive or leftist candidate just a couple days prior to elections, but the other day I was seeing them elsewhere telling people that they need to shut up with criticism of Gavin Newsom already, because he is (according to them) the likely presidential nominee for 2028, and now is not the time for criticizing each other. Where’s the outrage and insistence that El-Sayed will be better than any GOP candidate, so we need to support him now? Oh, that’s right, that slogan is really just meant as a cudgel to punch left, I forgot we aren’t meant to think it really extends to dirty progressives and socialists. My bad.
Keep voting progressives in Dem primaries to replace Democrat old guards, and there will be no need for headlines about party split and the thought terminating cliché “vote blue no matter who”.
Fuck centrist Democrats. They’re part of the reason that the US and the world are in this mess.
Yeah, that’s the plan for the time being. We’ll see what comes of it, but I suspect the old guard won’t go down quietly, and I find it helpful to point out their hypocrisy, particularly in a case like this. Stevens would clearly rather see the Dems lose than to win it with a progressive that hasn’t compromised with them on positions where the old guard are completely out of touch with the broader voting public and morality.

Starting from a counterfactual isn’t a strong argument. El-Sayed won the primary for a reason and gets massive support in similar comment sections from Democrats overwhelmingly agreeing that Stevens can go fuck herself.
How you divine who is & isn’t “the Vote Blue No Matter Who brigade” is the real mystery. Supporting commentary looks the same no matter who writes it, and it’s hardly needed when an upvote will do. Are you a mindreader? Do you consort with a higher power? Please show us your mystical, sagely ways.
It’s especially comical because Vote Blue No Matter Who unsurprisingly means doing that regardless of whom blue is. It doesn’t necessarily imply broadcasting commentary everywhere about it to your satisfaction.
It seems you’re agitating for some poorly articulated conflict in your deluded fantasy when the “Blue No Matter Who” crowd is embracing your candidate.
The Vote Blue No Matter Blue group has been the typical, centrist Democrats of old. I don’t know how you struggle so much with seeing the hypocrisy when the very same sort of Democrat that calls for party unity to get people to rally around an unpopular candidate is now trying to put conditions on her support for him in the election literally in the final stretches of the campaign. This is absolutely asinine sabotage from the very same sort of person who will be saying “Vote Blue No Matter Who” when a new Chuck Schumer wins a ratfucked primary and nobody actually likes the guy in the generals. Yet, now they want to put conditions on supporting a candidate who is broadly popular with the Democratic base in Michigan and is their best chance in the general election, by making him adopt positions of the person who lost to him in the primaries.
You see them all over threads about candidates nobody likes for the next presidential elections, like running Newsom or letting Kamala lose a second time, as well as in threads defending shitty Dems who decided to jump on the anti-trans bandwagon for this election cycle. It’s not too hard to notice their conspicuous absence elsewhere if you just tag users, and they tend to get tagged pretty quick as they love to troll with other neolib tropes like still swallowing blatant Israeli propaganda and calling people antisemitic or racist when they disagree or provide evidence that disproves their claims. That’s just using basic site functionality, though, so I regret to disappoint you with the lack of mystery and whimsy in the explanation.
Is she the one that her said her husband is voting republican because of this? Honestly she should be ostracized by anyone on the Dem side. Anyone willingly married to an R voter at this point cannot be trusted. Unbelievable that she ran and can’t seem to convince her husband to vote for her party if he’s not voting for her in the position. Clearly she cannot be trusted to push for her constituents needs if she can’t push her husband to vote blue. Maybe if her constituents were the state of Israel things would be different, but if she’s with someone that won’t vote for the candidate of her own party then clearly she doesn’t actually care what happens to them.
Yep, that’s her. I think if the Democratic party has any chance of being saved, it needs to have some sort of disciplinary measures to hold accountable people who campaign as Democrats, then seem to turn into nothing more than a source of obstruction for the party platform and to attack other Democratic candidates. You don’t want to completely shut down discussion and dissent, but there need to be methods to hold politicians accountable when they repeatedly do this.

I’m not one of those guys and have my fair share of problems with them, but VBNMW around here is essentially “as a black man” rhetoric; you have self-proclaimed progressive who tell other progressives what they as progressives should do. What they feel about centrists is unimportant because there are barely any centrists on Lemmy and they get downvoted to hell. They could be saying the same stuff to them on platforms with any real centrist presence.
I take that over the times they’re attacking it being posted instead of it happening
Good, Stevens is trying to drag all of us down so she can shill for a genocidal apartheid state. Mcmorrow was right to call her out on it. It’s clear that the American public broadly does not support Israel at this point. Frankly, she and all the other Zionist dems are just embarrassing themselves.
The point is to embarass them, it’s part of the Mossad playbook.
Changed to sort by top and not hot. Hot seems to be the most duchy comment that provokes the most counter arguments.
